THREE MEN ARRESTED FOR AN ALLEGED CRIME OF ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE AND INTIMIDATION
On 12th April, at about 22:20 hours, officers from the Policia Local in Orihuela Costa, received a 112 call informing them that a woman had been violently assaulted near her home in the Urbanisation Castillo de Don Juan, in the area of Las Filipinas. It is alleged that the woman was attacked by three men, one of whom was carrying a knife. They threatened her and stole her mobile phone and some cash. They then fled in a vehicle and headed towards the N332. Local residents were immediately on the scene and got a good description of the car in which the assailants were travelling. They gave the details to the Local Police and a patrol spotted the vehicle and gave chase. A second vehicle was also in support and soon the car was stopped. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as being Moroccan natives, currently living in nearby Pilar de la Horadada. Once it had been confirmed that the men fitted the description given by the victim, one arrest was made immediately but two of the men fled from the police on foot. One of the men was caught and arrested and the other was later located by Guardia Civil officers and in woodland near Campoamor. Once at the Guardia Civil Station in Torre de la Horadada, it emerged that they were in possession of three stolen mobile phones, two stolen wallets containing documentation, a screw driver and a knife that was allegedly used in the robbery. The Seat Ibiza they used to flee the scene of the crime was seized by the Local Police and the men were charged with various offences.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARREST IN PUNTA PRIMA
On 15th April at 09:00am, Local Police in Orihuela Costa were called to an address in La Ciñuelica, near Punta Prima following reports of a domestic violence incident. On arrival, officers spotted a man with a very aggressive attitude trying to hide between the pillars of the Punta Prima Commercial Centre. The woman told the officers that her partner had insulted her before throwing her to the ground and then punching her in the face and head. She showed signs of a violent assault and the officers immediately located the man and arrested him. The 46 year old man was identified as JLJ from San Miguel de Salinas and he was found to have a significant amount of blood on his right hand as well as displaying exaggerated and violent behaviour. He was handed over to the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja where he was charged with the office and proceedings against him were initiated.
