Are proud to announce that their volunteers offer a little FREE help at home to those in need NOW!
It took a little time organising HAH Costa Blanca to comply with all the red tape that is required to become a legal organisation. Norah Bond President HAH Costa Blanca stated that we have a great team of volunteers who are prepared to work FREE, which is amazing in these times of economic crisis, these fantastic people want to help those in need of all ages and all nationalities within a 15 km radius of Torrevieja. Norah is so proud and says a big thank you to every volunteer in the team of HAH Costa Blanca, without you we would not be able do offer this important service, which will undoubtedly give peace of mind to many people who feel unsure whether to stay in Spain or not as they get older.
Moving to a foreign country on retirement is a brave step to take, it is ok when you have a partner, sadly as time goes by, one passes away, has a stroke, becomes very ill or falls, breaking a hip or leg, we know that we have to act fast and to this aim, we felt the best way forward to offer a professional service was to
meet with other charities and associations and work together who have the same aim, offer help to those in need. We would like to take this opportunity of thanking them for their support, in particular Paul Cunningham Nurses who provide FREE hospice care to terminally ill patients.
Many have returned to their homelands because they are worried about their future as they get older, healthcare is the main concern for most people, we at HAH Costa Blanca aim to give you peace of mind, we are here to help you when you need a little FREE help at home.
We have 30 plus volunteers who want to help those in need at home, following assessment by our Lead Nurse Helen Catarall and Sheila Rowell, Volunteer Coordinator. We need more volunteers to help build the team to work in Ciudad Quesada, Entre Naranjos, Los Montesinos, Pilar de la Horadada, Campoverde, La Marina and all areas of Torrevieja. If you would like to become a volunteer, please call Sheila on 603 245 020, she will happily register you. Should you need Nursing Care call Helen on 698 779 287.
Our aim is to provide an English speaking nurse whose qualifications will be convalidated by the Spanish medical authorities very soon. We will offer nursing care FREE, a service to those needing nursing care, we are in the process of organising this with the support of the Consul and the Diputacion de Alicante and Social Services Torevieja. The social services provision usually take 6 to 8 weeks to organise, we at HAH Costa Blanca offer FREE help in the home in the meantime and in the near future, we will offer Hospital sitters,Translators and Mobility Equipment.
