More than 1500 runners took part in Sunday´s Orihuela Half Marathon. The event, which was the 13th annual race, was officially started by Orihuela Mayor, Monica Lorente, and competitiors ran the 13 miles around the northern and southern zones of the city before entering the city centre for the final stage. Runners of many different nationalities took part in the race and included elite athletes as well as keen running enthusiasts. The men´s race was won by Allan Masai Ndiwa in 1hr:4m:20s and the women´s race was won by Joan Aiyabei in 1hr:14m:22s. The team events were won by C.A Dolores Bacanal in the mens category and C.A Tragamillas Orihuela in the female category.
