The Company Women organisation welcomed the Orihuela Mayor and PP Mayoral Candidate for Orihuela, Monica Lorente, to their monthly lunch in La Zenia in Orihuela Costa this afternoon. The 50 women members, all of whom either have their own companies or are senior employees of large business, use the monthly meetings to connect with each other and network as well as learn more about the promotions that each business has to offer. It is a winning formula and being part of the organisation can generate lots of extra business and revenue for the ladies. It is also an opportunity for the ladies to support one another and offer ideas and solutions to problems. Ms Lorente was welcomed to the lunch by Company Women President, Gina Marks, who is the Managing Director of SOL Productions, an English speaking television and website service based in Orihuela Costa. Monica was delighted to have been invited and spoke animatedly to various Orihuela Costa based businesswomen during the lunch about the effects of the current economic crisis and discussed her party’s future plans for the coast and how the Partido Popular plans to help small businesses not only on the coast but in the whole municipality. She then addressed
the ladies and thanked them for the invitation. She said: “Thank you so much for this special invitation. I am honoured to be here. I am so pleased to see a group of like minded business women working together and supporting each other, especially during these financially difficult times.” The Mayor then offered to connect the organisation with the Camara Business Group in Orihuela, which is an association of businesses from all over the municipality. She told them that Camara would be able to offer the ladies even more support. She also took the opportunity to invite the ladies of the organisation to Orihuela city for one of their monthly lunches so that they can also have the opportunity to visit some of the city’s heritage sites, cathedrals and museums. She added: “We will be offering more services, more integration, more opportunities and more facilities for the people of Orihuela Costa. We have a great team on the Coast which works hard every day for the European residents who live here and they will continue to work hard for you.” She specifically mentioned the two new nurseries on the coast which are due to open later in the year. “As well as a place to educate our children, these nurseries will offer lunchtime facilities, so that mums can return to work safe in the knowledge that their children are being cared for properly all day. We are looking to the future and we want to have everything in place for the next generation.”
